Ithilien is a versatile, made-to-measure crochet pattern that allows you to customize the circumference, height and width to create a neck warmer that suits you or your child. The neck section is crocheted using slip stitches in the back loop only, creating a stretchy fabric, before being folded to form a thicker, warmer collar. Materials Needed

• Yarn: DK weight yarn or thicker is recommended. The pattern sample was made using DROPS Merino Extra Fine (DK).
• Crochet hook: A 6 mm crochet hook was used for the sample. Choose a suitable hook size for your yarn and the fabric you want to create.

Please note that yarn amounts and crochet hook size will depend on your measurements, yarn choice and personal tension. Thinner yarn is not recommended, as it may result in a shoulder section that is too narrow and affect the fit.
